
Monday, June 3, 2024, marked a historic day for the Management Study Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (FEB UMS). A delegation from the Management Study Program at FEB UMS, led by the Head of the Management Study Program, Dr. Rini Kuswati, S.E., M.Si, CMA, accompanied by the Secretary of the International Management Study Program, Soepatini, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D, as well as representatives from the UMS International Cooperation Bureau and International Management students, visited Dong A University, South Korea.
The visit began with a campus tour guided by representatives from Dong A University. The delegation was shown various facilities on the campus, including classrooms, laboratories, libraries, and other supporting facilities. Dr. Rini Kuswati expressed her admiration for the facilities at Dong A University. “The facilities here are very comprehensive and modern, which undoubtedly provide an extraordinary learning experience for students,” she said.
In addition to the campus tour, the delegation also attended a lecture held by Dong A University. During the lecture, UMS students had the opportunity to experience the lecture atmosphere at Dong A University and interact with local professors and students. Soepatini added, “This lecture attendance gives our students new insights into the learning system in South Korea and the opportunity to exchange ideas with other international students.”
This activity not only strengthened the cooperation between UMS and Dong A University but also provided valuable international experience for the students. One of the International Management students from UMS who participated in the visit shared his positive impressions, “This is a very valuable experience for us. Besides seeing the incredible campus facilities firsthand, we also gained a lot of new knowledge from the lecture we attended.”
The visit is part of the efforts by the Management Study Program at FEB UMS to enhance the quality of education and provide global experiences for its students. “We hope that with activities like this, students can be more motivated and gain broader insights in their field of study,” said Dr. Rini Kuswati.
With the campus tour and lecture attendance activities, it is hoped that the cooperation between UMS and Dong A University will continue to grow and provide greater benefits for both institutions. This is also a tangible step in supporting the internationalization of education, which is one of the main focuses of UMS.
