International Community Service Activities by FEB UMS and LPMPP UMS in Seoul, South Korea

– The Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (FEB UMS) and the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPMPP UMS), in collaboration with the Special Branch Leadership of Muhammadiyah (PCIM) South Korea and the Indonesian Muslim Family Association (IKMI) South Korea, held an international community service activity on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Al Falah Mosque, Seoul, South Korea.

The event was officially opened by the Indonesian Ambassador to South Korea, who delivered a warm welcome and appreciation for this initiative. She emphasized the importance of collaboration among various parties in supporting the progress and welfare of the Indonesian community abroad. The opening was also attended by representatives from PCIM South Korea and IKMI South Korea, who also provided support and remarks.

The activity featured two main speakers who are experts in their fields. Dr. Rini Kuswati, S.E., M.Si., CMA, presented on the topic “Managing Stress Towards Self-Enlightenment.” In her presentation, Dr. Rini Kuswati provided various strategies and techniques for effective stress management. She emphasized the importance of balancing professional and personal life and offered practical guidance for achieving self-enlightenment through good stress management.

Meanwhile, Soepatini, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., delivered a presentation on “Socialization of Halal Products.” She explained the importance of awareness of halal products, both in daily consumption and from an industrial perspective. Soepatini also outlined the criteria and process of halal product certification, as well as how the community can be more selective in choosing products that comply with Islamic law.

The event was attended by members of the Indonesian Muslim Family Association-Korea (IKMI Korea) and International Management Study Program students who are currently in South Korea. The participants were enthusiastic about each session, with many questions posed to the speakers on the discussed topics.

This activity not only served as an avenue for knowledge enhancement for the participants but also strengthened the relationship between the Indonesian Muslim community in South Korea and the academic representatives from UMS. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that a good synergy can be established in supporting the development of knowledge and the welfare of the community, both in Indonesia and South Korea.

The event, filled with warmth, concluded with a group photo session and a friendly gathering, further strengthening the bonds of brotherhood among the participants and speakers.
